Domaine de la Sorbière, run by Jacques Juillard, is led by a man who prefers to stay under the radar. His wines sell out quickly through word of mouth, and I was lucky enough to discover and meet him at a wine fair in my mum’s town last year.
After retiring in 2014, Jacques fully dedicated himself to vineyard work and winemaking. Inspired by his passion for amphorae, he began vinifying his wines in these traditional vessels, sourced from Tuscany.
With a strong commitment to natural winemaking, he replanted all his vineyards with organic vines and has maintained organic certification for over six years. His wines are also crafted with minimal to no added sulfites.
